SABINS

The School Attendance Boundary Information System (SABINS) provides, free of charge, aggregate census data and GIS-compatible boundary files for school attendance areas, or school catchment areas, for selected areas in the United States for the 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years.

The grant funding the SABINS project has now ended and no future data releases are planned.

The National Historical Geographic Information System (NHGIS) provides, free of charge, aggregate census data and GIS-compatible boundary files for the United States between 1790 and 2014.

Minnesota Research Data Center

The Minnesota Research Data Center (MnRDC) provides the opportunity for researchers access to non-public data from the U.S. Census Bureau and other government agencies in a secure setting on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Through the MnRDC's controlled environment, researchers with approved projects are able to use decennial census and demographic surveys, economic census and surveys, and health data from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) in addition to other federal agencies.
