The Minnesota Population Center hosts specialized forums, workshops, and symposia on topics related to population research. It is also has a weekly seminar series bringing nationally and internationally recognized population researchers from a variety of disciplines to Minnesota to share their research.

Seminars are held Mondays at 12:15 pm during the academic year.

Formerly known as the Inequality and Methods Workshop, the newly revamped MPC Workshop is held Fridays from 12:15-1:15pm during the academic year.
- Data Training Workshops
Learn how to access and use the world's largest repositories of demographic data. Topics covered include selecting variables, extracting data, and running statistical analyses in SAS, SPSS, STATA, and Excel. No experience required. All workshops are free, open to the public, and held in computer classrooms on the campus of the University of Minnesota. Registration required.
