Applicants must be US citizens, US noncitizen nationals, or permanent residents. (Individuals on temporary or student visas are not eligible for Kirschstein-NRSA support.)
Postdoctoral trainees must have earned a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, ScD, etc.) by the start date in either (1) a social science field (e.g. sociology, economics, psychology, geography, anthropology, public policy) or (2) a health science or related field (e.g., epidemiology, public health, nutrition, laboratory science ). Demonstrated experience or potential for conducting research is the primary criteria for appointment.
