Eligibility and How to Apply
Applicants must be US citizens, US noncitizen nationals, or permanent residents. (Individuals on temporary or student visas are not eligible for Kirschstein-NRSA support.)
Postdoctoral trainees must have earned a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, ScD, etc.) by the start date in either (1) a social science field (e.g. sociology, economics, psychology, geography, anthropology, public policy) or (2) a health science or related field (e.g., epidemiology, public health, nutrition, laboratory science ). Demonstrated experience or potential for conducting research is the primary criteria for appointment.

Two postdoctoral slots are currently open with start dates in Summer/Fall 2021. Applicants must submit an Application Form and a CV of no more than five pages. Applications will start to be reviewed on November 15th. Applicants do not need to reach out to potential mentors before they apply.
