Biography
My name is Ting Xu, and I am a second year Ph.D. student in the Department of Family Social Science at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Social Welfare with a minor in Psychology from Wuhan University in China. I then went on to complete my Master of Social Science degree at UCLA.
My research interests center on the intersection of technology and family relationships, with a specific focus on smartphone addiction among adolescents. My goal is to identify actionable strategies that parents can employ to set appropriate limits around screen time while still allowing teens to benefit from online tools and connections.
