Lucy Abrams is a health services researcher whose work broadly aims to understand the influence of federal and state policy on patient health care access and health outcomes, with a focus on underserved populations. She earned her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy in 2024, where she was a Graduate Research Fellow with the Institute for Research on Poverty from 2023-2024. Her work covers several topics including improving maternal health outcomes and reproductive healthcare access for medically underserved populations; understanding barriers to medication adherence for patients of Minnesota’s federally qualified health centers who face housing instability; evaluating drug spending patterns by individuals paying for medications without insurance; and the role of pharmacists in providing care to individuals who have marginalized identities.
