Katrina Kennedy

Katrina is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Minnesota Population Center. She completed her PhD in Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in May 2026. She studies how structural discrimination shapes distributions of poverty, housing instability, and other structural vulnerabilities along social hierarchies – driving disparities in health and well-being. She is especially interested in how the design of social safety net policies uphold or exacerbate inequities in material hardship, housing, and health. She is experienced in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods.
