Biography

Isabella (she/her) is a Ph.D. student in sociology with a focus on immigration, race/racism, and abolition. She is particularly interested in how immigration policies and the criminal legal system intersect and influence marginalized communities. Isabella is currently involved in pro-se legal asylum clinics and works with the Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee, focusing on abolitionist campaigns that challenge prison slavery in Minnesota. 

Before her doctoral studies, Isabella worked on various community-driven projects, including organizing mutual aid initiatives, transformative justice circles, and leading Know Your Rights sessions. Her advocacy and organizing work center around justice for incarcerated individuals, immigrant rights, and dismantling oppressive systems. Isabella earned her M.A. in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University.
