My research interest covers public finance and social equity. I'm specifically interested in how public investment in transportation, medical care, education, etc are benefitting different population groups; how gender and racial disparity changes in today's dynamic policy context regarding labor market; whether public initiatives (e.g. racial equity audit) have the potential to reduce racial disparity, etc.
Haiyue's research investigates the relationship between public investment and social inequality. Her primary interest lies in the racial equity issues, particularly how the improvement of public infrastructure would have different impacts among population groups. Haiyue's works also engage in labor market outcome disparities. Her current project explores how racial equity audit is initiated and implemented, and what outcomes have been achieved.
