My research interests include the process by which health systems adapt to meet evolving population demographics. Current work examines organizational learning and change as systems implement and scale age-friendly health care practices, and the impact of these changes for individuals, families, and communities.
My research advances understanding of, and seeks solutions to, the complex sociotechnical challenges that impede how health care organizations adapt to meet the needs of evolving population demographics. Innovations in the organization and delivery of health care services, including technology-based innovation, often fall short of addressing the siloed, uncoordinated, and incomplete services that individuals, families, and communities experience. My conceptual and empirical research contributions identify the underlying challenges that impede organizational learning and change, and offer novel policy and practice insights to address these changes.
