Biography

As a graduate student of psychology, I am interested in studying how adolescents and young adults come to understand their sense of self specifically through their sociocultural environments. Specifically, I take a multi-method approach to examine 1) how social connections is a resource for marginalized adolescents to promote healthy development, 2) how structural cues about belonging and inclusion influence what and how interpersonal relationships are form, 3) how migration and acculturation inform people’s sense of belonging and identity development. My overall research aim is to take strengths-based approaches to identify and enhance resilience factors and cultural capital among marginalized and minoritized communities.
