Research Interests

I study structural discrimination against sexual and gender minoritized (SGM) populations. I am interested in health disparities in mental health, sexual health, and cancer for SGM communities. My goal is to develop skills to measure structural discrimination via social policy, and within United States institutional contexts and link these to health outcomes for SGM people.

Biography

I am a PhD student in Health Services Research, Policy & Administration (HSRP&A) here at the U of M School of Public Health with a focus on the sociology of health and illness. I am currently working on the Elsie Study (Testing Effective Methods to Recruit Sexual and Gender Minority Cancer Patients). I grew up in Iowa City, IA and earned a BA in English Literature and Chemistry from Grinnell College. I completed my MS in HSRP&A at the University of Minnesota.
