Research Interests

My research examines how structural mechanisms in public health and healthcare systems produce and maintain complex community health inequities in the U.S., with critical attention to gender and sexuality as sites of control or resistance. I work with queer and trans communities to illuminate levers for changing these systems. My work uses mixed methods and has spanned diverse topics including health policy, media narratives, medical education, cancer care, and substance use.
