Biography

Belle Khuu, Ph.D, MSW, MPH is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Institute on Community Integration (ICI) part of the University of Minnesota. Dr. Khuu is a proud 1.5 generation Vietnamese American from a refugee background. She is currently involved in various projects designed to enhance the full participation, social inclusion, positive outcomes of persons with disabilities. She has over 15 years of research experience ranging from coordinating clinical trials to conducting her own research inquiry looking into the insidious effects of war trauma on marginalized communities. Her past collaborations were studies examining health disparities, identifying social determinants of health and mental health, and culturally adapting parenting interventions among Asian American communities. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in social work. She has expertise in qualitative and quantitative research, assessment, program development, and evaluation related to individuals and families with disabilities.
