Biography
I am a sociologist studying how social inequalities shaped by gender, family, and work influence health across various contexts and populations. One stream of my research focuses on the work-family nexus and not only what people are doing at work or within their families, but how they feel about their labor in these roles--and how this in turn impacts their health and relationships. Within other social contexts, my work explores links between family processes, place, and health for members of marginalized and underserved populations including sexual and gender minorities, people of color, rural populations, and intersections of these groups.
