Biography

My research interests include supplementing current research into brain-related trauma (often through the specific disease entity known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy) to provide a deeper understanding of population health that melds the socio-historical, economic, and biological determinants of disease. The current research and medical paradigm surrounding brain-related trauma is infused with gendered, racial, and socioeconomic biases that introduce health disparities across affected populations. Both the biological and social sides of population health studies present an opportunity to gain additional methodological tools to address these health disparities and advocate for better medical and research models moving forward. In brief, I'm interested in combining my research into disease framing, knowledge production, and the nosological history of brain-related trauma with the data collection and research at the level offered by population health.
