Biography

As a social epidemiologist, my research examines why place and other social exposures influence health and health equity, including the roles of racial residential segregation, neighborhood context, socioeconomic position, and social policies. My program of scholarship explores how seemingly “non-health related” social policies (including those directly concerned with housing or neighborhoods, or socioeconomic position) may reduce racial/ethnic health disparities.

I am currently Co-Director, with Rob Warren, of the NICHD-funded Training Program in Population Health Science (T32HD095134).
