Michelle is a first-year PhD student in Applied Economics at the University of Minnestota, having previously earned her MS in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University (2012). She is primarily interested in researching how climate change, by way of natural disasters and agricultural degradation, can influence migration decisions and ultimately, how those decisions influence the food security levels of households and nations. She is also interested in exploring innovative methods of collecting, analyzing, and disseminating supporting data in these fields.
